Sunday Bookends

Today, I’m joining Boondock Ramblings for Sunday Bookends, where you post about what you’ve been reading, watching, listening to, or writing this week. So, here goes!

Reading

Lots of blog posts, thanks to joining NoBloPoMo this month!

I’ve also started the book Other Birds by Addison Allen. I don’t remember where I heard about it, but I was on the waitlist for it at the library. I’ve only made it through the first three chapters, but so far, I’m enjoying it. I also have been reading a lot of articles about transfer student support for work.

Watching

As always, I’m watching lots of Murder, She Wrote.

But, this week I also watched a few episodes of The Diplomat, which someone at work said I would love. And they are right. I do need to pay attention to this one, so I can’t watch as many episodes as I would like with how busy I’ve been. But, it is excellent. And Keri Russell is so good in it!

I also finished North of North, which was so funny and touching and lovely to watch! If you want a funny show that has some deeper messages, this is a great one! And it definitely is a great Winter vibe show.

I also watched part of one episode of Nancy Drew from the 90s, but didn’t finish it. I have to be in the mood to watch these as they are pretty cringy.

Listening To

I started the week with a Spotify playlist, “songs that feel like fall” and had some good 90s music on it.

I also listened to an episode of Cabot Coverage I’ve been working my way through back episodes and the last two I’ve listened to were on the very first episode and this week’s was “The Return of Preston Giles”. So, that was a fun listen.

Writing

Not a lot of writing this week! I’ve written some assignments for my classes and some slide presentations for my classes. I also had to write some emails (so many emails). But, that is about it this week.

So, there it is! My week bookended! Thanks for the inspiration Boondock Rambling!

We really enjoyed The Diplomat. I think the 3rd season is my favorite.

We love The Diplomat but yeah, it is definitely one you have to pay attention too. North of North is really cute too. I’m excited that Man on the Inside is coming out with a season two– I just loved season 1.

I definitely need a post-Halloween/pre-holiday playlist in my life– thanks for the nudge to curate one!

Keri Russel – she’s great. I haven’t watched the Diplomat, but I’ve heard of it. Sometimes shows are not on a streaming service that we subscribe to and that bums me out. I hope North of North is on Netflix or prime. Maybe? I love the Smashing Pumpkins. Fun fact, I took a girl I babysat for to their concert in like 1994 maybe – right after I graduated from college. Her parents wouldn’t let her go alone. I felt so old, but the concert was also good.

I need to rewatch The Diplomat maybe. I liked it a lot, but wasn’t great at paying attention in season 1. Then again, I do know everything that happened, so maybe I’m OK. But it’s a fun watch, so why not?

I listened to a “70s fall playlist” on spotify, and that was fun! I think you have to be of a certain age to enjoy it though- I grew up in the 70s so those are the songs I love. Speaking of which… I used to love Murder She Wrote! Are you watching the original episodes, or are there new ones?
