Well, this Friday Favorites is coming to you on a Sunday, but Friday was Halloween and it was full to the brim from start to finish! I’m joining Momfessionals and A Little Bit of Everything for another celebration of all that is fun!

Celebrating Halloween and Juliet Low with Girl Scouts
On Monday, my Girl Scout troop hosted their annual Hal”low”een Event. Juliet Low (founder of Girl Scouts) was born on Halloween, so we have hosted a celebration of Girl Scout history and Halloween the last three years. The girls have really upped their game over the years and this year we had a Haunted Barn (a few shots before it got dark – it included a lot of UV paint and the girls got UV flashlights as they entered). There was a Pirate Corner with a fog machine, the mushroom forest, ghosts and bats and a giant spider as they exited! The Daisies had a blast (it wasn’t quite dark yet) getting a little scared, but not too scared and the last group to go was the Juniors and they were going through it multiple times. So, it was definitely a win!

We had three stations: The Haunted Barn and Crafts, GORP and Potions, and Songs and Skits (of course – for those of you who know Girl Scouts, if you’re celebrating Juliette Low, you have to have some songs and skits!). Here are some more photos from the event:

It was hard work, but a total success and our troop members always learn so much about planning, organizing, time management, leading and supporting!
World Series
I love baseball and am sad that it is over for the year. As a San Francisco Giants fan and always rooting for an underdog, I was rooting for the Blue Jays. Alas, it wasn’t to be. But, they made it really fun to watch and I loved every last minute of the season. Now, I guess I have to watch football. Sigh…

Halloween Sips
I enjoyed using my Hocus Pocus 2 cup for the final week and also had a PSL out and got wished a Happy Halloween!

Halloween Playlist

Halloween!
The week felt VERY long, but I finally made it to Halloween and it was a great time! We went to a friend’s house who has kids that my daughter works with in the afterschool program she works at and a handful of them came over and my daughter and her friend went trick or treating with all the first graders and a few parents while I stayed behind to handout candy and watch the baseball game with my husband and friend’s husband. I LOVE handing out candy and was bummed when we weren’t going to be home to do it, so I was excited to serve in that role.
Before they went out, we tooks some photos. My daughter was the Antler Queen from one of her favorite shows – Yellowjackets. Her friend was a bed bug (jammies, wings, antennae and a stuffy – lol). I was a cat. My husband was an IPA for hipsters in honor of our local love for the IPA beers thanks to Sierra Nevada brewery.

So. much. fun. I was quite exhausted after the busy week and a long night though. I’m happy to have the extra hour of sleep today, but the darker nights will hit hard this week.
How was your Halloween?
