Finding My Writing Rhythm
If you’ve been visiting my page for even a little bit, you already know that consistency in posting isn’t exactly my strong suit. I want to write regularly—but blogging still doesn’t feel like part of my normal rhythm. That’s why this year, I’m taking on NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month), a challenge to post every day in November. Thanks to Runners Fly for the connection!
My hope is that it helps me build a more natural writing habit—shorter posts, more often, with less pressure for perfection.
November actually seems like a good month to try it. I say “good” with a bit of hesitation, because it’s not exactly going to be easy. At work, I’m leading two hiring processes—one with a full committee and about 30 (!) applicants. We’re also traveling for Thanksgiving for the first time in a few years, and my daughter has not one but two Girl Scout weekend camps, both several hours away.
Still, it’s a relatively “lighter” month for me in other ways. One of my campuses is on break for a week, and the other is off for half a week. My Girl Scout troop just wrapped up our big annual event, and we’ll only meet once in November. There are no debate tournaments on the calendar, and after this week, no major class assignments until December. So yes—November might just be the perfectly imperfect month to give this a go. I’ll be using the “Five Things” theme when I don’t have another thing to post about. But, I plan to do a Friday Favorites today since I missed it yesterday, so I will leave this post as is!
Hope some of you will join me for a word-filled (or photo-filled if that’s your blog vibe) November!
